In my initial exploration of environmental projects, the assignment tasked us with crafting a scene through the integration of primitives, deformers, textures, and lighting. This piece was inspired by my home in Long Island. My life has always revolved around the beach and ocean life so I wanted to apply its beauty in my 3D modeling.
The project became a personal ode to the coastal realms that have consistently shaped my experiences, resulting in a dynamic and evocative representation of the seaside allure within the realm of digital artistry.
Sketches and Process
In conceptualizing the lighthouse and village scene, my vision was to imbue a sense of spatial depth. I aimed to craft an experience where one could almost 'walk' up the cliffside to reach the lighthouse, with a captivating forest acting as a natural barrier in between.
In my approach to developing assets for expansive projects, I adhere to a strategy of compartmentalization. I prefer to meticulously create individual components in separate files, seamlessly amalgamating them into a comprehensive whole. This methodology not only facilitates a more streamlined creative process but also empowers me to make intricate edits without compromising the efficiency of the main project file.
